Stray Dog Menace: Dog tears into dead body in Sir T Hospital of Bhavnagar

Bhavnagar: In yet another incident of the stray dog menace, a stray dog roaming the corridors of the state-run Sir T Hospital tore into the body of a deceased individual within the hospital premises.

Sureshbhai Parshottambhai Bhil, who worked at a snack shop on Sir T Hospital Road, visited the hospital for treatment. However, due to a lack of timely treatment, he sought refuge within the hospital premises overnight during which he died.

A stray dog within the hospital premises mutilated his dead body and face. The hospital administration declared the deceased as unidentified and arranged for his body to undergo a post-mortem examination before attempting to locate his family. Following this, the Nilambagh police were informed. The discovery of identifying documents in the deceased’s pocket eventually led to the location of his family. Subsequently, the necessary funeral proceedings were conducted.

In response to this incident, the superintendent of Sir T Hospital, Jayesh Bhrambhat, issued a statement explaining that the victim was found within the hospital premises and was initially admitted for treatment. However, he had already passed away. The on-duty doctors performed a post-mortem examination and informed the police. DeshGujarat
