Vadodara police book a lady for drunk & drive and assaulting a Home Guard; Video goes viral

Vadodara: Gotri Police booked a woman on Sunday for driving while intoxicated, displaying disorderly conduct towards police officers, and physically assaulting a home guard.

The accused woman was driving her car in an inebriated condition in the early hours of Sunday morning when she collided with another vehicle near the Gokul party plot on Vasna Road. Following the collision, she engaged in heated arguments with a family travelling in the other car. After the police arrived at the scene, the woman did not pay any heed to the requests to exit her vehicle. She continued to verbally abuse them and even challenged them to take action against her.

A video of her actions has gone viral online. In the footage, the woman can be heard daring a police officer to make physical contact with her. She also resisted the female officer who asked her to come to the police station, and later she even slapped the home guard.

After much effort, she was taken out of her car and brought to the Gotri police station, where she underwent a medical examination. R. D. Kava, in-charge ACP (D division), informed the media that the Gotri police had received a report of a disruptive incident involving a female driver near the Gokul party plot. Upon investigation, it was determined that the woman was driving under the influence of alcohol, leading to her being charged in accordance with the Prohibition Act.

Additionally, a separate complaint was filed against her under Section 332 of the IPC for obstructing public servants in the performance of their duties. It has been learned that the woman works as a nail artist. DeshGujarat
