ACB Gujarat nabs a senior clerk and peon of district cooperative in bribe case

Vadodara: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat Police has nabbed a senior clerk of district cooperatives in Godhra in a bribe case along with his office peon.

Accused Rajesh Vaghadiya is a senior clerk working in district cooperatives in Godhra. He is a class 3 staffer of the government and a resident of Kadana taluka. The other accused is Mehul Baria, a peon outsourced by the government for the same office.

According to ACB, the complainant in this case works as a secretary at Seva Sahkari Mandali Ltd. He had made a fixed deposit of Rs. 1 lakh sum received through the sale of the tractor in the name of Seva Sahkari Mandli. There was a complaint against him in the district registrar regarding financial irregularity into this. The probe was handed over to accused Rajesh Vaghadiya who demanded Rs. 15,000 bribe to clear the case.

As the complainant was not willing to pay a bribe, he contacted ACB, following which a trap was arranged and the accused peon was nabbed receiving a bribe on behalf of a senior clerk. DeshGujarat
