Parts of Ahmedabad get nearly 1 inch rain in 2 hrs on Janmashtami

Ahmedabad: The city of Amdavad received a significant amount of rain on Janmashtami today after 4 PM, with some parts of the city receiving nearly 1 inch of rain.
Going by the zone-wise figures received from the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) for the period of 2 hours from 4 PM to 6 PM, the West zone of the city received the highest amount at 21.76 mm, which is nearly 1 inch of rain. Following that, the central zone received 19.25 mm, and the South zone of the city received 13 mm of rain. The East zone and the North zone of the city remained dry. However, there was slight rainfall in the North West zone and South West zone, which recorded 3.51 mm and 1.80 mm, respectively.
As of 6 PM today, the total amount of rain received by the city during this monsoon season stands at 643.55 mm.
Some parts of the city witnessed waterlogging, but it was only ankle-deep and later receded after the rainfall subsided. DeshGujarat
