Wankaner: Saint Bramhaswaroopdas Swami of Swaminarayan sect has tendered an apology through a video message regarding his controversial remarks about Khodiyar Mata of Matel Dham.
In the video message, Swami Bramhaswaroopdas said, “I want to humbly convey to Khodiyarmata and her devotees, Khodaldham trust, and the temple of Khodiyarmata ji that my intentions were not to hurt religious sentiments and beliefs of anyone. However, if somebody was hurt because of my words, I, Bramhaswaroopdas Swami, with folded hands, seek an apology and assure you that it will not be repeated.”
Earlier this week, devotees and saints in Morbi had presented a memorandum to the District Collector, demanding an apology for the offensive statement made by Swaminarayan saint Bramhaswaroopdas about Khodiyar Mataji of Matel Dham near Wankaner.
A video clip of Swaminarayan saint Bramhaswaroopdas went viral on social media, in which he can be heard saying, “Maharaj sprinkled the water from his wet clothes on Kuldevi Khodiyar Mataji. That is how your Kuldevi became Satsangi.” He added that Mataji herself bows down to those adopting the Swaminarayan Sect.
In his speech, the Swaminarayan saint was seen conveying a message to the people that once they convert to the Swaminarayan sect, they no longer need to believe in their Kuldevi or Kuldevta, as Swaminarayan Bhagwan is considered supreme and above all. DeshGujarat
