Gandhinagar: Two IAS officers from Gujarat, Manish Bhardwaj, the former municipal commissioner of Vadodara, and Vijay Nehra, the former Ahmedabad municipal commissioner, have received orders for central deputation.
Manish Bhardwaj, who currently holds the position of Principal Secretary for Narmada and serves as the CEO of the Gujarat State Disaster Management Authority, has been posted as the Deputy Director General (DDG) at the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) within the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. He will serve in this capacity for a period of five years or until further orders.
Vijay Nehra, who is the Secretary for the Science and Technology Department and CEO of the Dholera SIR Authority, has been appointed as the Senior Directing Staff (CS) at the National Defence College (NDC) within the Ministry of Defence, where he will serve for a duration of five years or until further orders.
Sources have indicated that there may be a minor reorganization within the state bureaucracy once these two officers are relieved from their current positions for their central deputation.
