Tapi and Kadana set to achieve 100 percent storage finally

Gandhinagar: Thanks to very heavy rains in neighboring Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, Gujarat’s all three largest dams – Sardar Sarovar Narmada dam, Ukai dam over river Tapi and Kadana dam over Mahisagar are set to achieve 100 percent storage. There were worries regarding low storage at Tapi and Kadana this year, however the latest round of rains and subsequent heavy inflows have ensured that both these dams shall get 100 percent storage, giving year-long relief to respective regions and beneficiaries.
While Sardar Sarovar Narmada dam witnessed 100 percent storage during 4 am to 5 am today, the second largest dam of the State – Ukai dam over river Tapi is as of noon today 91.36 percent full with level at 104.06 m against highest level of 105.16 m. Against inflow over 5.83 lakh cusecs, outflow was over 2.27 lakh cusecs.
Another crucial dam, the third largest in the State – Kadana was 92.51% full at noon with an inflow of 7.80 lakh cusecs against an outflow of 7.79 lakh cusecs.
Another dam from where heavy outflow is flowing is Vanakbori which is 100 percent full with inflow and outflow at 2.20 lakh cusecs. DeshGujarat
