Sudden closure of Surat Airport runaway; Indigo flight diverted to Ahmedabad

Surat: Runway of Surat airport had to be shut for about two hours last evening after a tyre of Ventura air connect’s aircraft got deflated during landing process. The affected plane had six people aboard. All are safe. The aircraft had arrived from Ahmedabad. The tyre of the flight got deflated at around 8:40 pm during the landing. The runway of the airport was made operational at 10:40 pm.
It is learnt that the aircraft namely VT-DEV was added to the fleet of Airline this month only, after it was purchased for ₹30 crore. It was named Dev Viman by the operator.
Due to the closure of the runway, Indigo’s flight 6E 6384 was diverted to Ahmedabad for a halt. Several passengers of this flight were seen tweeting complains.
A passenger named Varun Patel tweeted: Out flight 6E2254 has landed at Ahmedabad instead of Surat due to some error, kindly provide assistance. The washroom in the plane are not enough for passengers and even its time of dinner.
Another passenger Gaurav Jindal who was to board a flight to Delhi from Surat tweeted: My Surat to New Delhi flight delayed … Please provide compensation … It’s my child’s birthday today and I am going to miss my precious moment.
Another flight of Air Asia connected Surat to Delhi had to stay in the air for a longer time till the runway was reopened. DeshGujarat
