Vadodara: A controversy irrupted in Lunawada based Ganesh Utsav venue where Ganesh ji’s murti was placed in lap of over 200 years old saint Sahajanand Swami.

The devotees objected Bhagwan Ganesh ji’s smaller depiction with Saint Sahajanand Swami’s bigger one. The protesters objected to the saint’s greater depiction than Bhagwan. Those following Swamminarayan sec are recently facing heat over depiction of saint as Bhagwan Swaminarayan, and projection of Hindu gods as dasa of him.

After uproar and protests, the Kachhiya Samaj that had organized this Ganesh Utsav withdrew the controversial projection and tendered a written apology on its letterhead. Police too had rushed to the venue of Ganesh Utsav and resolved the issue amicably. DeshGujarat
