Gandhinagar: Former Maharashtra Chief Minister and founder of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Sharad Pawar held a meeting with a politically controversial business tycoon Gautam Adani in Ahmedabad for over an hour. According to a news agency report, Pawar visited Adani at the latter’s residence and office (headquarters of Adani Group) in Ahmedabad. This is not the first visit of Pawar to Adani whose company is headquartered in Ahmedabad. Pawar had visited Adani earlier too in Ahmedabad. At least three meetings between Adani and Pawar since April are publicly known.

Pawar also inaugurated a factory in Gujarat jointly with Gautam Adani. Pawar tweeted: It was a privilege to inaugurate India’s first Lactoferrin Plant Exympower in Vasna, Chacharwadi, Gujarat along with Mr. Gautam Adani.

Chacharwadi, Vasna is located near Changodar in Ahmedabad district. The owner of Exympower is owned by Pune origin Prakash Ganpat Khalate. Lactoferrin (LF) is a component of the whey protein of milk of most mammals, probably with the exception of dogs and rats. The concentration of lactoferrin in milk depends on the phase of lactation. It has been proven that colostrum can contain up to seven times more LF than mature milk.

Pawar is part of the INDI alliance of opposition parties. The leading ally Congress party’s frontal face, Rahul Gandhi has taken a strong stand against Adani for the last few years. However many Congress chief ministers and leaders are on good terms with Adani. They have invited Adani to their states to attract investments in the industrial sector. Political parties under the umbrella of INDI alliance including one of the main parties led by Mamata Banerjee are also in good terms with Adani.

Pawar is allegedly keeping his one foot in BJP led NDA through faction of his party led by Ajit Pawar and other foot in INDI alliance with his daughter. Through Ajit Pawar and Praful Patel his party is enjoying power and plum ministerial portfolios in Maharashtra government with Shiv Sena and BJP. Through his own presence along with his daughter Supriya Sule he also enjoys the opposition bonding. His tweeting photos with Adani and meeting him indicate a lot about clarity and unity of INDI alliance ahead of the national election next year.
