Car thief nabbed after about 40 km chase by Police in Jamnagar

Jamnagar: Filmy scenes could be seen in real on the roads of Jamnagar on Tuesday as police chased car thieves for 40 kms and nabbed the thief eventually. Police had to use gun and stick to stop the car lifter. As police was chasing the car, the thief was driving it in haste and thereby creating ruckus on road. A Swift Desire car GJ10.DR.9912 was stolen by a thief, following which it was chased by C division police staff of the city. As the thief realized he was being chased by police, he drove the car recklessly and hit some people and vehicles in haste. He also tried to run over the policemen who stopped his car.
Though police had arranged nakabandhi, a thief escaped the city of Jamnagar and reached highway to Rajkot.Late Jamnagar Police contacted Dhrol police and informed about the car. Dhrol police blocked the road by using Bolero vehicle and stopped the car. The thief was however not ready to come out, following which the police had to show him a gun, after which he left the car. The accused is identified as a citizen of Southern Indian state Telangana. During the chase Dhrol police’s Sub Inspector PG Panara suffered an injury in his right hand. DeshGujarat
