Ahmedabad: The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) will carry out repair and restoration work of 19 fountains across the city that are non-functional. These fountains will be made functional by Navratri this year. The decision was made in the AMC’s standing committee meeting held today.

Informing about the meeting, Standing Committee Chairman Devang Dani said, ‘There are 40 functional fountains in the city, and the 19 fountains that are not functional will be restored soon. A generic medicine store will be opened in the hospitals run by AMC, and road repair works in the city will commence after October 1st,’ he added.

The city’s civic body will spread awareness about the use of generic medicine in public hospitals, and information regarding this will be provided to the public. The road repair work is likely to be completed by January next year. DeshGujarat
