Former GPSC chairman Dr. Dinesh Dasa appointed as member UPSC

Gandhinagar: Former Chairman of the Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC), Dr. Dinesh Dasa has been appointed a member of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). He has taken over the new responsibility in the national capital.

The appointment has been made by the President of India through an order released by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions (Department of Personnel and Training).

Reacting to his appointment, Dr. Dinesh Dasa tweeted, “I am honoured and humbled to share that the Hon’ble President has appointed me as a member of the UPSC. This opportunity is an extension of the work I did when I headed the GPSC. At this important moment of my life, I extend my heartfelt gratitude and thanks to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji for his blessings that have guided me throughout my journey. I stand ready and enthusiastic to wholeheartedly contribute to the advancement of our beloved nation with unwavering dedication and sincerity. ”

The term of each member of UPSC uses to be for six years. Chaired by Dr. Manoj Soni, the commission has at present Rajiv Nayan Choubey, Lt Gen Raj Shukla (Retd.), Mrs. Preeti Sudan, Ms Suman Sharma and Bidyut Behari Swain as its members.

Dr. Dasa has been the Ex-Director of Gujarat Tourism Corporation Ltd. He is Ph.D. ( Forest Laws & Sustainable Development ) by education. He hails from Navsari in South Gujarat. DeshGujarat
