EAM Jaishankar addresses Vibrant Gujarat event in Delhi; Diplomats from 119 countries attend it

New Delhi: External Affairs minister S. Jaishankar while addressing the diplomats and heads of missions from 119 countries in an event in the national capital here related to upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024 said – Gujarat has been an economic leader of this country for a long time, people are legendary for entrepreneurship, risk-taking potential, or willingness to explore opportunities all over the world. There are no countries in the world that have no Gujarati, and sometimes I suspect that’s the reason why they chose to send the foreign affairs minister to parliament from that state. Because Gujaratis has been the pioneer, performer, and leader, the economic event in Gujarat has a very special significance. So anybody coming there is looking not just at the performance of India but the future prospects of India.

He further said – We just recently had the G20 summit and one of the important side events was for the India – Middle East – Europe economic corridor. And in that corridor, the India end of it is in the State of Gujarat. There’s an older one. The International North – South transport corridor, and that too is now getting greater impetus. Here too, the take-off point for India is the western shore of India, particularly the coast of Gujarat. Another I2U2, here again, the hybrid energy parks, food parks that are envisaged, we are looking for in Gujarat.

He also mentioned setting up India’s first semiconductor plant of Micron company in Gujarat. He said Gujarat is also the state that faces Africa. These are really regions today where India pays attention. Many new initiatives are unfolding in Gujarat, it could be electric vehicles, semiconductors or aviation. DeshGujarat
