World Cup: 81 people attended by 108 ambulances at Narendra Modi Stadium

Motera: During the inaugural match of the ICC Men’s World Cup, which featured England and New Zealand, a total of 81 patients were attended to by EMRI 108 ambulances on Thursday. However, none of them had any serious medical emergencies requiring hospital transfers.

A senior official mentioned that, in addition to the ambulance stationed in the Motera area, five more ambulances were deployed near the Narendra Modi Stadium due to the anticipated high number of visitors and changing weather conditions. These ambulances provided assistance to 57 male patients and 24 female patients. The cases treated included 25 instances of body pain and headaches, 23 cases of fainting, 10 cases of weakness and fever, seven cases of blood pressure fluctuations, two falls, and 14 cases falling into other categories.

Officials emphasized that the decision to deploy a specific number of ambulances is made in collaboration with the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) and the city police. For matches with anticipated large attendance, such as the India-Pakistan match, there might be an increase in the number of ambulances and paramedics on standby. Additionally, five coordinators are stationed inside the stadium to coordinate rescue efforts, and there are five or six paramedics available for immediate medical needs. DeshGujarat
