Bagasara Municipality withdraws a controversial resolution

Amreli: Bagasara municipality in Amreli district of Saurashtra has revoked its 3rd October resolution in which it has stated that any person in blood relation of an elected female municipality member shall be allowed to attend the general board meeting. The resolution was simply meaning that husbands of elected female members can attend the meeting and take decisions on behalf of the women members. After the decision attracted controversy, it was decided on a successive meeting of 7th October to revoke the earlier resolution. The municipality in addition to this also decided not to allow mobile phones in the meetings. DeshGujarat
