Gujarat CM’s meeting with PM sparks off verities of speculations in the State

Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister’s visit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Home Minister Amit Shah, Gujarat BJP chief CR Patil and State BJP General Secretary(Organization) Ratnakar Pandey lasted reportedly for over two and half hours on Friday, October 13 evening. This has sparked off various speculations in the local Gujarati media.
On Friday morning, a sudden news broke that the Chief Minister along with the State party chief CR Patil and reportedly the senior bureaucrat K Kailashnathan were going to visit the national capital. Accordingly, an aircraft took off from SVPI airport in Ahmedabad. As per the reports, the CM was to meet party chief JP Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah in the national capital. However, in the evening CM Patel and Shah were seen reaching Prime Minister’s residence. They stayed there for over two and half hours. The state party general secretary (Ratnakar) was already in the national capital. Patil was also part of the meeting.

This development has sparked off variety of speculations in Gujarati regional media, be it the newspapers or TV channels. Such speculations range from possibility of change in the State cabinet or expansion of the State cabinet, appointments in the boards and corporations run by the State government, and possible change in the State party organization.
The Gujarat Chief Minister has been meeting the Prime Minister frequently in the recent past. Most of his meetings with the PM have been one-to-one. However the latest meeting, the length of it, the suddenness of it and the involvement of all major players of Gujarat BJP in it – such factors have triggered lot of speculations. DeshGujarat
