Kumbh Sthapan ceremony performed at world’s largest office building – Surat Diamond Bourse

Surat: Kumbh Sthapan ceremony was performed today to mark auspicious beginning of Surat Diamond Bourse (SDB) today in festive and positive mood on Vijaya Dashami (Dussehra).
Vijaya Dashami is considered and auspicious day to begin the works. Therefore this day was chosen to mark beginning of SDB, which is going to formally inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi on December 17 this year.
The Kumbh Sthapan was performed in presence of Lok Sabha member Darshanaben Jardosh. Around 1,000 office owners were present to place kalash (Kumbh). SDB has total 4,000 offices.
According to the committee members, all offices are expected to be functional from 21 November. The Prime Minister will formally open SDB on December 17 in presence of whose who of diamond industry from across the world.
SDB’s Mathurbhai Sawani said that flags of 175 nations will be placed in the bourse which shall be the center of global trade of diamonds, jewellery and raw diamonds. He said, the entire business will get centralized in SDB and it will solve multiple issues, the diamond businessmen face due to multiple centres of trade.
