PM Modi likely to flag off Kevadia – Ahmedabad AC heritage train

Vadodara: Among other inaugurations during his visit to Ektanagar in Central Gujarat on 31st October, Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi will also dedicate a weekly heritage train connecting Ahmedabad to Kevadia. He is likely to flag off a heritage train from Kevadia.

The train has a heritage-look engine. Though it is an electric engine, its look is in match to old-time steam engine. The train will have the capacity to accommodate 144 passengers. It will also have a restaurant that can accommodate 28 people. The train shall have 4 couches.

The new train will have ticket fares matching up-class trains like Shatabdi.  The train will have 100 km/hour speed. It will have a passenger information system and vista dome coach-like glass windows. According to Pradip Sharma, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Railway, the train shall be air-conditioned. It will have chair car coaches and a restaurant car.

Statue of Unity fame Kevadia, also known as Ektanagar has a number of tourist attractions including the tallest statue in the world, Jungle Safari, rafting, maze, cruise, and more.
