Adalaj Stepwell, located in the serene outskirts of Gandhinagar, stands as an architectural marvel and a testament to India’s rich cultural heritage. Also known as Adalaj ni Vav, this stepwell is a five-story subterranean structure intricately carved with stunning motifs, columns, and platforms. The stepwell was built by Mahmud Begada in 1499 to fulfill the wish of Queen Rudabai, the wife of Veersinh, the Vaghela chieftain who wanted to honor her husband. The stepwell not only served as a utilitarian source of water but also as a place for community gatherings and spiritual reflection. DeshGujarat
