Gandhinagar: Unseasonal rainfall today has brought a lot of problems to those who have organized weddings. After over a four-month period of Chaturmas, today is the first mahurat for holding weddings and other auspicious occasions of that scale. Today is also Sunday, the most suitable day for holding occasions. Say for example, in the Bapunagar area of the city, 21 couples are to wed in a mass wedding function organized by Madhuli Trust. There are numerous such functions across the city and beyond. Some others have organized Mehdi, Sangit sandhya, and other functions related to the occasion of the wedding. Such functions are in jeopardy due to the possibility of further rains. The season of Winter is otherwise considered safe for holding such occasions in an open-to-sky manner.
