Gujarat’s largest Passport Seva Kendra opens in Bapunagar of Ahmedabad
July 07, 2025
Ahmedabad: A new Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) was inaugurated today in the Bapunagar area of East Ahmedabad. The centre has been shifted from the Mithakhali area due to space constraints and public inconvenience. The newly established facility at White House in Bapunagar is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to provide efficient services to citizens.
According to officials, this is the largest passport centre in Gujarat. On the very first day, 600 applicants were given appointments. The centre is divided into three wings with a total of 36 counters dedicated to various services such as fingerprint scanning, verification, and application submission. The shift to the eastern part of the city was made to meet the growing demand from local residents, the Regional Passport Office said.
Authorities also mentioned that special arrangements have been made at the new facility. To ensure smooth operations, a trial run was conducted on Sunday with selected applicants ahead of the official launch. With upgraded infrastructure, the centre is expected to handle over 800 applications per day in the coming days. Increasing congestion and lack of parking space at the Mithakhali location had caused inconvenience to visitors, prompting the decision to relocate the centre to Bapunagar. DeshGujarat
