PMO to review Rajkot’s AIIMS, Railway, and Road projects

Rajkot: A review meeting is scheduled for this evening via video conference from the PMO, focusing on the railway, airport, and AIIMS projects here in Rajkot city. District Collector Prabhav Joshi has informed that discussions will encompass the ongoing Rajkot-Kanalus double track project and the commencement of the inpatient department (IPD) at AIIMS Rajkot by the end of December. Additionally, discussions will cover the development of Rajkot International Airport.
Collector Prabhav Joshi stated that a review of AIIMS, railway, and airport projects will take place today via video conference from the PMO. The ongoing work on the double track between Rajkot and Kanalus will be a key topic. Notably, the acquisition of land from 13 villages, was completed within six months instead of a year. Land has been handed over to the Railway Department. Final notices have also been issued for 21 cases involving government and private land, which include questions of inheritance.
The AIIMS project will undergo scrutiny in this meeting, with a 250-bed IPD in AIIMS set to begin operations by the end of December, benefiting patients from Saurashtra, including Rajkot. Furthermore, a bridge towards Morbi Road is expected to be completed by the end of this month, while the land acquisition process for the bridge towards Jamnagar road is ongoing.
Additionally, the government is preparing to construct a flyover bridge in the T-section near the international airport located near Hirasar on the Rajkot-Ahmedabad highway. The forest clearance process for this project is in an advanced stage. DeshGujarat
