Gujarat CM approves Rs. 483.71 crore for public projects in Gandhinagar, Surat, and Vadodara

Gandhinagar: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel today gave in-principle approval to allocate a total of Rs. 483.71 crore for 424 different development works in three metro cities—Gandhinagar, Surat, and Vadodara. The CM allocated these funds from the Swarnim Jayanti Chief Minister Urban Development Scheme initiated in 2010 by then CM of Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Accordingly, the Chief Minister has given in-principle approval for the allocation of Rs 20.74 crore to the Gandhinagar Urban Development Authority (GUDA) for road works from Bhaijipura to Signature Bridge leading to Gift City.

Various higher education institutions are functioning along the bay of this main road connecting Gandhinagar-Koba highway with Gift City. In addition to the work in progress to develop this area as a knowledge hub, considering the future availability of metro rail, Rs 20.74 crore has been allocated as a special case from the Swarnim Jayanti Chief Minister Urban Development Scheme for the purpose of development and beautification of this road.

As the next Vibrant Summit-2024 is scheduled to be held in Gandhinagar, five infrastructural development works, including footpaths, landscaping, theme-based painting, and artwork of three overbridges and two underpasses along main roads, will be undertaken at a cost of Rs. 35.50 crore. Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel has also given in-principle permission to carry out these projects.

Apart from these works, the Chief Minister also sanctioned Rs 10.70 crore for two proposals for outgrowth area development works of the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation, including beautification and landscaping of the road from Rakshashakti Circle to Koba Circle and construction of new cement concrete roads in the villages included in the Municipality.

The Chief Minister has also allocated funds to the Surat and Vadodara Municipal Corporations for development works under the Swarnim Jayanti Chief Minister’s Urban Development Scheme.

In-principle approval has been given to allocate Rs 145 crore for two works of auditorium construction in Nanpura in the Central Zone and Katargam in the North Zone in Surat.

CM also gave in-principle approval to allocate a grant of Rs 151.25 crore for 75 works, including 21 works of physical infrastructure facilities, 19 works of social infrastructure facilities, and two works of urban mobility under the outgrowth area development works.

The CM has sanctioned Rs 63.81 crore for Surat Municipal Corporation for 175 works, including road carpeting, re-carpeting, and widening existing roads and footpaths construction under the Chief Minister’s Urban Road Scheme.

Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel has sanctioned Rs. 56.70 crore to Vadodara Municipal Corporation.

All these developments will give a new direction for long-term sustainable development in cities-metropolises, and urban life will become more convenient. DeshGujarat
