Gujarat Chief Minister flies to Delhi, calls on Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi

New Delhi: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel after completing the cabinet meeting and other business in Gandhinagar flew to the national capital New Delhi and reached the Prime Minister’s residence at Lok Kalyan Marg to hold a meeting.

Patel and Prime Minister Modi held a meeting, details of which are not available. This is yet another meeting between Patel and Modi. It is also learnt that Union Minister of Home Amit Shah was also part of the meeting.

The agenda of the meeting is likely around the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat global summit which is to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi in Gandhinagar on January 10. The State government yesterday stated that Prime Ministers and Presidents of various nations will participate in the summit along with CEOs of companies from India and abroad.

The Prime Minister is also likely to inaugurate several development projects soon in Gujarat including the Rajkot AIIMS and Multi-Model hub in Sabarmati and Bet Dwarka – Okha sea bridge among others.  The meeting between Chief Minister and Prime Minister is also taking place when the general election of Lok Sabha is less than six months away and two opposition MLAs have resigned from the State Assembly, apparently to contest against for assembly polls as BJP candidates alongside the Lok Sabha polls.
