Statue of Unity: The Statue of Unity witnessed its highest number of tourists on a single day on Sunday, 24 December. One of the top tourism destinations, the tallest statue in the world witnessed the arrival of more than 80,000 tourists on Sunday which broke earlier records. A day ago on Saturday, another 50,000 tourists arrived here. In this long week-end, Monday is also a public holiday due to Christmas. Furthermore, 50,000 tourists are likely to arrive on this day. The visitors complained about high charges levied by hotels due to heavy rush.
