Robbers hijack cash van with Rs 2.13 crore; Abandon it after police chase

Kutch: A van carrying Rs 2.13 crore from a State Bank of India (SBI) branch in Gandhidham was hijacked by robbers on Friday morning. However, a after being chased by the cops and the staff of cash handling agency robbers decide to abandon the vehicle on National Highway 41. All the cash was fount to be intact after the chase.
A total of six individuals allegedly involved in the crime have been apprehended with the help of CCTV footage, technical surveillance, and information gathered from various sources. Among the apprehended individuals, Dinesh Fafal (21) was identified as the van driver. The other individuals involved in the crime include Rahul Sanjot (25), Vivek Sanjot (22), Rahul Barot (20), Nitin Bhanushali (23), and Gautam Vinzoda (19), all hailing from Kutch district. Further investigations unveiled that both Vivek Sanjot and Bhanushali were employed in the collection division of the cash management firm.
The incident occurred at Swami Vivekanand Circle, around 11 am when the private agency’s staff, having loaded the cash in the van, stopped for breakfast near the bank. Seizing an moment, a man with a duplicate key opened the van’s door and sped away. Upon alerting the police, the agency staff chased the robbers, resulting in the vehicle’s abandonment on NH 41. The robbers escaped in a private vehicle with the help of accomplices.
