AMC to build a new flyover parallel to Chimanbhai Patel bridge
January 17, 2024
Ahmedabad: A new bridge will soon be constructed parallel to the Chimanbhai Patel overbridge, which links RTO Circle to the Sabarmati Bullet Train Depot. The state government’s urban development department and Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) have finalized the proposal for this new development.
It is learnt that the civic body will be responsible for the construction of the bridge and is likely to incorporate this proposed project in the upcoming budget for 2024-25.
The decision to build the new bridge comes as the existing Chimanbhai Patel bridge witnesses significant traffic, connecting the city with the state capital and north Gujarat. The bridge also experiences a substantial movement of heavy vehicles. This traffic congestion is most likely to rise once the bullet train is operational.
With a new parallel bridge, this traffic issue will be solved and controlled. Before the AMC invites bids, a detailed project report will be needed. DeshGujarat
