Ahmedabad Police books head constable for causing accident while intoxicated

Ahmedabad: B Division police have booked a head constable today for causing a car accident while being intoxicated in the Navrangpura area of the city. Head Constable Anirudh Singh Vaghela, working at Navrangpura police station, caused an accident near Swastik Char Rasta while driving recklessly at high speed. Vaghela was found intoxicated by the locals who handed him over to the traffic police. A liquor bottle was also found in his car during the investigation.
Currently, a case has been registered against the head constable at the B Division police station. The traffic police detained the head constable and conducted further investigations. Locals informed the police and media that the police constable was also behaving aggressively while intoxicated.
Although no one was injured, an empty bottle of alcohol was found in his car. In this regard, an offense of driving under the influence (Section 185) has been registered. A medical examination is still pending, after which more details will be clarified. DeshGujarat
