Vaghodia MLA Dharmendrasinh Vaghela resigns from Gujarat Assembly

Gandhinagar: Another MLA of the Gujarat Assembly has resigned from his post today. Independent MLA Dharmendrasinh Vaghela, representing Vadodara’s Waghodia seat, submitted his resignation after meeting the Assembly Speaker, Shankarbhai Chaudahay.

He is likely to join the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) soon. Additionally, it is learnt that Dharmendrasinh Vaghela met BJP State President C R Patil before his resignation.

Speaking about the resignation, Vaghela said, ‘When the Prime Minister is working to establish Ram Rajya in the country, it is the wish of mine and the people of my constituency that I should contribute to this; that is why I am resigning today.

‘I was with the BJP only; neither did I join any other party, and I have no issue with the BJP,’ he added.

“This is not my decision alone; I have decided to resign after consulting with the people of my constituency who voted for me. They felt that I should resign and work with PM Modi to establish Ram Rajya in the country.” he further said.

During the 2022 state assembly election, Vaghela sought the ticket from the ruling BJP but was denied. However, he contested the election as an independent candidate and won the polls by a margin of 14,006 votes, defeating BJP candidate Ashvinbhai Natvarbhai Patel (Kaka). DeshGujarat
