75th Republic Day Parade 2024 from Kartavya Path in New Delhi

New Delhi: Republic Day, observed on January 26, commemorates the adoption of India’s constitution and its transition to a republic. Each year, the festivities include impressive displays of both military prowess and cultural celebrations. In the capital, New Delhi, armed forces personnel march along the Kartavya Path in a grand showcase of military strength, overshadowing other events nationwide on this significant day.

This year on the 75th Republic Day, over 13,000 people are invited as special guests at the parade. French President Emmanuel Macron will be presiding over the occasion as the chief guest. A total of 25 tableaux will roll down the Kartavya Path during the parade.

The celebrations commence with a magnificent parade held in New Delhi, starting from Raisina Hill near the Rashtrapati Bhavan (President’s House), proceeding along the Kartavya Path, passing India Gate, and concluding at the historic Red Fort. The ceremonious parades along Kartavya Path pay homage to India, emphasizing its unity in diversity and rich cultural heritage. States across India contribute to the celebrations by creating splendid tableaus, adding to the grandeur of the event.

For the Republic Day Parade 2024, the chosen theme for the tableaux is ‘भारत – लोकतंत्र की मातृका (जननी) / Bharat – The Mother of Democracy.’

Today, National Capital Delhi has been placed under a blanket of security for the Republic Day celebrations with more than 70,000 personnel deployed across the city.
