PM Narendrabhai Modi to launch Rs. 13,000 crores projects from Mehsana on Feb 22

Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat on February 22, during which he will unveil various development projects for the state. In Mehsana, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of projects worth more than ₹13,000 crores across various departments. Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel will also remain present during the event in Mehsana.

Inauguration of The Gujarat Fiber Grid Network, valued at ₹2042 crore, part of BharatNet Phase-2

The Prime Minister will inaugurate the Gujarat Fiber Grid Network, a project developed at a cost of ₹2042 crore as part of BharatNet Phase-2, under the purview of the Department of Science and Technology. This project will help connect 22 districts, serving 8030 Gram Panchayats with a 35,264 km fibre network, facilitating high-speed internet access of up to 100 Mbps. With minimal network upgrades, internet speeds can be boosted to 1 Gbps per Gram Panchayat.

He will also inaugurate the main academic building of Gujarat Biotechnology University, along with the foundation stone laying ceremonies for the Human and Biological Sciences Gallery and the new building of the Gujarat Biotechnological Research Center (GBRU) at GIFT City. Additionally, the PM will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for development projects costing over ₹2500 crore, under the Department of Science & Technology.

Inauguration of 5 Development Works of Railway Department worth more than ₹2300 Crore

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate 5 Railway projects at a cost of more than ₹2300 crore at Mehsana. These projects include the Radhanpur-Samkhiali section covering 134.30 km, the Mehsana-Jagudan section spanning 10.84 km, the new broad gauge line from Mehsana to Jagudan covering 10.89 km, and the Mehsana-Bhandu section including Moti Dau spanning 8.89 km.

The Radhanpur-Samkhiali section is part of the Palanpur-Samkhiali doubling project, totalling 247.73 km, which will enhance connectivity between tourist destinations such as Rann of Kutch, Jodhpur, Bikaner, and Abu Road. This development will particularly benefit the people of Mahesana, Kutch, Banaskantha, Patan and Ahmedabad.

Inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremonies for development projects worth over ₹1700 crore by the Roads and Buildings Department

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for the development projects of the State Roads and Buildings Department (State R&B), National Highway (NH), and the Capital Project Gandhinagar. The inauguration of development projects worth ₹310 crore and the laying of foundation stones for projects worth more than approximately ₹1400 crore. Thus, inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremonies for development projects of over approximately ₹1700 crore under the Roads and Buildings Department will take place.

Inauguration of the runway at Air Force Station Deesa at an estimated cost of ₹394 crore

A runway has been constructed at an estimated cost of ₹394 crore for the Air Force Station Deesa, located in Nani village on Tharad Highway in Banaskantha district. This project will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister on February 22. Situated 130 km from the international border, the airbase holds strategic significance for the country’s defence. The establishment of Deesa Airfield provides India with a geographically secure launch pad for simultaneous land and sea operations along the western border. It will play a crucial role in providing air defence for the important economic hubs of Ahmedabad and Vadodara. Constructed as per the GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment) norms, the Air Force station utilizes environmentally friendly technology and green field concepts.

The construction of this air force station will bring economic prosperity to the Kutch and South Rajasthan regions by creating employment opportunities for locals. The UDAN scheme will provide regional air connectivity through the RCS. Additionally, the airfield will facilitate India in achieving its economic and energy goals by establishing an airbase to the east of the Kandla port and the Jamnagar oil refinery. It will serve as a launch pad for Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) missions in the region.

Development projects of the Water Resources department worth over ₹1200 crore and Development projects of the Water Supply Department worth ₹248 crore

The inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremonies are scheduled for various Development projects of the Water Resources department worth over ₹1200 crore. These projects include the inauguration of the Madhavgadh to Raigadh pipeline and Tharad to Seepu Dam pipeline, the foundation stone laying of the Balaram-Malana pipeline, and pipelines for replenishing lakes in Satlasana and Kheralu talukas. Additionally, the inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremonies of the Development Projects of the Water Supply Department worth ₹248 crores will take place.

The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of two projects, of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas of the Central Government, collectively valued at more than ₹2100 crore. Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone for two projects by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), with a combined cost of ₹1685 crore, and inaugurate a project of the Ministry of Energy worth ₹612 crore.

Apart from the aforesaid developments, there will be inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremonies for 9 projects under the Urban Development Department, estimated to cost ₹507 crore. Additionally, the laying of foundation stones for 3 development projects by the IMD-Tourism Department, with an estimated cost of ₹108 crore, and the inauguration of the Samaras Village Gram Panchayats under the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, costing ₹36 crore, will also take place. Thus, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will present development projects worth more than ₹13,000 crore, during his visit to Mehsana, benefiting the people of Gujarat. DeshGujarat
