Gujarat BJP kicks off candidate selection procedure for upcoming Lok Sabha polls

Gandhinagar: Ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has initiated two days long sense-taking exercise for selection of candidates for upcoming Lok Sabha general elections in Gujarat.

According to party sources, Party’s each cluster prabhari is reaching out to three Lok Sabha seats that he/she is assigned to take sense from the ground on the names for suitable, prospective, preferred candidates for Lok Sabha seats. The exercise is being carried out through three-member observers panels for 26 Lok Sabha seats during 26-27 February.

For Gandhinagar Lok Sabha seat, one single name of Amitbhai Shah was suggested to party-appointed observers Harsh Sanghavi, Varshaben Doshi and Sanam Patel, unanimously by party cadres and leaders.

The meeting of State parliamentary board of BJP shall be held at Chief Minister’s residence in Gandhinagar in the evening on February 27 in which the panels and names of candidates for Lok Sabha seats in Gujarat shall be sent to party’s Central Election Committee.

The party nationally is going to hold a meeting of Central Election Committee on 29 February and some names of candidates are likely to be announced on February 29. DeshGujarat
