Actor Hitu Kanodia, singer Arvind Vegda among those wishing to contest Ahmedabad West Lok Sabha seat for BJP

Ahmedabad: Actor and former MLA Hitu Kanodiya, singer and BJP campaigner Arvind Vegda, and former Mayor Kirit Parmar are among those who have demanded tickets to contest the Ahmedabad West Lok Sabha seat. The seat is reserved for Schedule Caste candidates. There are concerns regarding the lack of ground connection and activeness of incumbent MP Dr. Kirit Solanki. In the probability that Solanki would be dropped this time, several party workers and leaders from Schedule Castes have expressed their desire to contest the seat, before the party observers who are taking sense at the city BJP headquarters.

Gujarat BJP SC morcha chief Gautam Gediya, Asarwa MLA Darshna Vaghela, former MLA Jitu Vaghela, former Dy Mayor Dinesh Makwana, Doctor Cell’s Dr. Kirti Vadaliya, former minister Girish Parmar, former Secretary of SC cell in Gujarat BJP Naresh Chavda, former city BJP secretary Vibhut Amin, former SC morcha city chief Bhadresh Makwana, Isanpur councilor Gitaben Solanki, former MLA of Vadgam Manibhai Vaghela, former MLA RM Patel’s son Hitesh Patel and his daughter Nimisha Patel, among others have expressed their desire to contest Lok Sabha election for BJP on Ahmedabad (West) seat.

Two-day long sense-taking exercise will end today. The names collected from the ground are to be put before the State parliamentary board first and further scrutinized names will go to the Central parliamentary board for final selection of candidates. DeshGujarat
