Vadodara – Bharuch expressway’s traffic burdens Vadodara-Padra road; Four laning required
March 06, 2024
Vadodara: With the opening of the Vadodara – Bharuch expressway, the road connecting Atladra Swaminarayan Mandir to Samiyala expressway entry point is nowadays witnessing heavy traffic and even jams in the evenings. The locals have raised the demand to make this road a four-track, as even more traffic is expected once the expressway is opened up to Surat and then up to Mumbai.
To access the Vadodara – Bharuch expressway which is part of the Delhi-Mumbai expressway, the people in Vadodara use the Samiyala entry point which is located on Padra – Vadodara road. The road is not four lanes. It was already burdened due to thousands of vehicles passing between Vadodara and Padra and Vadodara and Jambusar. Padra has several industrial units. Private company buses and staffers pass through this road daily during peak hours. Now, additional traffic of the Vadodara – Bharuch expressway has been added to this road stretch. It particularly creates traffic jam issues in the evenings.
Locals say that a narrow gauge railway line between Vaoddara and Jambusar which is uprooted is now replaced with encroachments. That land can be used to widen the road. DeshGujarat
