VMC bans sale of non-veg on Mahashivratri

Vadodara: The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC), through a notification, has prohibited the sale of non-vegetarian food on March 8th on the occasion of Maha Shivratri.
Considering the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, the VMC has issued a notification ordering the closure of non-vegetarian shops on March 8th. The civic body will also keep the slaughterhouses shut in view of the festival. Action, as per the law, will be taken against the traders who open the shops and sell meat on March 8th. The decision has been made in respect of the sentiments of devotees of Lord Shiva. DeshGujarat
