Gandhinagar: Gujarat Congress’s General Secretary DD Rajput has resigned from party.

Rajput is Tharad Rajput Samaj’s President. He was candidate of Congress party for Tharad assembly seat in 2017.

Rajput has resigned ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, polling for which is scheduled on 7 May.

A state level office bearer, Rajput’s resignation is a major blow for the party especially in Banaskantha where Congress has fielded Wav MLA Geniben Thakor as its candidate against BJP’s Dr. Rekhaben Chaudhary. DeshGujarat
