Vadodara: The city police made another arrest on Wednesday in the case related to the sale of samosas filled with cow beef at the ‘Hussaini Samosa’ Centre, bringing the total number of arrests to 8.
The supplier of cow beef, Fardeen Mohammed from Bhalej in Anand district, was arrested on Wednesday. He is a business partner of Imran Yusuf Qureshi, who was arrested on April 8 for allegedly providing the beef to the owners of Hussaini Samosa Centre, Yusuf Sheikh and Naeem Sheikh.
The Vadodara police, along with SOG and VMC officials from the health and food department, apprehended Fardeen in Anand on Tuesday.
Authorities are also investigating whether the shop proprietors distributed similar beef samosas in other cities where they operate franchises, and are examining the involvement of other individuals within Vadodara who may have supplied the meat.
Earlier, on Saturday, the Local Crime Branch of Vadodara City Zone 4 seized 113 kg of cow beef and 152 kg of filling used to make the samosas from Hussaini Samosa in Chhipwad. Six individuals, including owners Yusuf Sheikh and Naeem Sheikh, as well as employees Hanif Bhathiyara, Dilawar Pathan, Moin Habdal, and Mobin Shaikh, were arrested. DeshGujarat
