Gujarat likely to feel heatwave on Lok Sabha polling day

Ahmedabad: The Indian Meteorological Department, in its latest forecast, has predicted the possibility of an intense heatwave in parts of Gujarat from May 5th to May 7th. If the predictions come true, then the people of Gujarat who are going to vote in the third phase of the general Lok Sabha elections on May 7th should be prepared for the scorching summer heat.

According to the IMD bulletin, for the next 3 days, there is no significant change in temperature, but after that, the mercury is likely to rise by 2-3ºC over the region. Discomfort conditions due to hot and humid air are very likely to prevail over coastal areas of South Gujarat region and Saurashtra-Kutch during the next 5 days (from May 3rd to May 7th, 2024).
