Repolling concludes at Parthampur booth of Dahod Lok Sabha seat

Dahod: Re-polling for the General Election of Lok Sabha concluded at polling booth number 220 in Parthampura, Santrampur, in Mahisagar district. The area falls under the Dahod Lok Sabha seat. Out of 1,224 eligible voters, 856 cast their votes today.

The re-polling at this booth took place after booth capturing occurred here on May 7 during the third phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. The re-polling was concluded peacefully with the presence of police, a Special Observer from the Election Administration, the District Superintendent of Police, and other senior officers.

The Election Commission (EC) issued directives for re-polling on Saturday, May 11, at the Parthampur polling station within the Dahod Lok Sabha constituency in Gujarat. This decision came after allegations surfaced that Vijay Bhabhor, the son of a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP and former Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Jaswantsinh Bhabhor, had purportedly tried to seize the polling booth, participated in fraudulent voting, and live-streamed the entire event on Instagram.
