Surat: To maintain law and order in the city, Udhna police conducted a night combing operation on Wednesday, visiting several societies in the area and urging citizens to voluntarily surrender any weapons they might have. The police promised no action if weapons were voluntarily surrendered, after which several people complied, surrendering around 108 weapons including swords, dhariyas, chappus/knives, and koyatas.

The Udhna Police visited different societies in the Udhna area, informing residents through a public address system and urging them to deposit any deadly weapons such as swords, pistols, Rambo paddles, or wooden whips. They assured residents that no action would be taken if weapons were voluntarily surrendered, but strict action would be taken if weapons were found during police checks. Announcements were made in Marathi, Punjabi, and Hindi languages. Upon hearing the police appeal, residents came forward and deposited their weapons.
