Gandhinagar: The relief from the scorching heat was short-lived in Gujarat as the heatwave has returned in several districts of the state. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, while parts of Saurashtra and Kutch are likely to witness a heatwave for the next three days, Valsad district has been put on alert with a severe heatwave warning.

Light rain occurred today in parts of Jamnagar, Morbi, Gir, and Kutch amidst the forecast of likely rain in Saurashtra-Kutch, Banaskantha, Patan, Ahmedabad, Dahod, Mahisagar, Tapi, and Dang.

As per the latest IMD bulletin, there is likely to be a gradual rise in temperature by 2-3°C during the next three days, and discomfort conditions due to hot and humid air are very likely to prevail over coastal areas of Saurashtra-Kutch from May 16, 2024, to May 20, 2024.

May 16th: Light thunderstorm with lightning and surface wind 30 to 40 kmph (in gust) accompanied by light rain is very likely at isolated places in all the districts of Saurashtra-Kutch; in the districts of Gujarat region, namely Banaskantha, Patan, Ahmedabad, Dahod, Mahisagar, Tapi, and Dang.
