May 20, 2024
Rajkot: The 40-year-old Sandhiya Pul will be closed for vehicular movement from May 22. The railway overbridge (ROB) on Jamnagar Road in the city will be closed for demolition, Rajkot city police commissioner Raju Bhargava announced on Sunday. A new ROB will be built in its place.
The notification states that two-way movement of two-wheelers will be permitted from the Special Home for Boys to Airport Garden via Bhomeshwar railway crossing to access Jamnagar Road. Cars, ambulances, and other light vehicles coming from Civil Hospital Chowk and heading towards Madhapar Chowkadi on Jamnagar Road will be allowed to use the Bhomeshwar Plot road near the Special Home for Boys and exit onto Jamnagar Road at Airport Garden.
Similarly, cars, ambulances, and other light vehicles coming from Madhapar Chowkadi can proceed towards Civil Hospital Chowk via the existing Jamnagar Road, take Railnagar Road near Airport Garden, and continue to Civil Hospital Chowk via Popatpara Main Road and Railway Station Main Road.
These alternate routes will be closed to heavy vehicles, state transport buses, and private luxury buses. State transport buses will need to travel towards Madhapar Chowkadi from Busport via Amrapali Railway underbridge and Raiya Chowkadi. DeshGujarat
