1st Installment of Namo Saraswati, Namo Lakshmi Schemes to be disbursed in June

Gandhinagar: The education department of Gujarat will disburse the first installment of the Namo Saraswati and Namo Lakshmi scholarship schemes on June 27. This decision was made in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, where it was decided to allocate the first installment of Rs 85 crore to students on June 27, coinciding with Shala Praveshotsav. The registration process for these scholarships will commence on Monday.
The state government, in its budget for the fiscal year 2024-25, has introduced two schemes: the Namo Lakshmi Scheme for girls in secondary and higher secondary schools, and the Namo Saraswati Merit Scholarship Scheme to encourage students to pursue science in Class 11 and 12.
A total of Rs 1,250 crore is allocated for the Namo Lakshmi Scheme, and Rs 250 crore is allocated for the Namo Saraswati Merit Scholarship Scheme. DeshGujarat
