ACB launches probe into officers linked with TRP Gamezone

Rajkot: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has initiated a crackdown on officials who ignored regulations and allowed the TRP Game Zone in Rajkot to operate without essential permits.

Following a Special Investigation Team (SIT) meeting to address the regulatory failures that led to the Game Zone fire, the ACB has commenced search operations in all government offices in Rajkot. At least three ACB teams have been deployed in the city, with an Additional Director monitoring the case.

As of now, the probe has been launched against two Class 1 officers and one Class 2 officer. It is learned that these government officers misused and abused their power by allowing TRP Game Zone and other structures to operate illegally. The officers are suspected of having amassed huge wealth, and the ACB is looking into evidence of disproportionate assets linked to these officials.

ACB’s action comes after widespread allegations that the fire tragedy was the result of corruption in Rajkot city and the Rajkot Municipal Corporation. Sources in the ACB said that they will file a complaint under the Prevention of Corruption Act against the three officials. DeshGujarat
