Junagadh: The local police have booked 10 people, including Ganesh Jadeja, the son of the Gondal MLA Geetaba Jayrajsinh Jadeja, for kidnapping and attempted murder in Junagadh. After abducting the Junagadh NSUI president in three cars, the accused took him to ‘Ganeshgarh’ in Gondal, stripped him, beat him, made a video of the incident, and threatened to make it viral. The accused then abandoned the victim in Junagadh. The victim has filed a case against Ganesh Jadeja and the others involved, and the police have launched an investigation.
The victim, Sanjay Rajubhai Solanki, recounted the incident, saying, “I, along with my son, were passing through Kalwa Chowk on the night of the 30th on a bike when a speeding car braked abruptly near us at the Kalobha statue. When I asked the driver to drive properly, an altercation ensued. To avoid conflict as my son was with me, I decided to take him home. However, the driver of the first car and another car followed me to my house. About a dozen men emerged from these cars and were about to start a fight when my father intervened. One of the men in the car was identified as Ganesh Jayaraj Singh Jadeja. Although I did not know Jadeja personally, I could identify him. But since my father knew Ganesh Jadeja, he managed to broker a compromise, and the group left.”
“Later that night, as I was riding my motorcycle, the same group chased me in their cars, hit my motorcycle, and knocked me down. Five men exited the car and started beating me with an iron pipe, while two other cars arrived with more men who also assaulted me. They forced me into one of the cars and took me towards Gondal. In a remote area, the men, including Ganesh Jadeja, beat me and made derogatory comments about my caste. They then took me to Ganeshgarh, where more men, armed with pistols and iron pipes, were waiting. Following Ganesh’s orders, these men stripped me, beat me severely, and filmed the assault on their mobile phones. They demanded that I resign from the Junagadh NSUI Congress and threatened to kill me if I reported the incident. After I apologized, they left me near the Kia Showroom at Bhensan Chowkdi,” he added.
Rajubhai Solanki, the victim’s father, stated that around 3 AM, his son was abducted from the Junagadh Datar Road area by Ganesh Jadeja and his men in three cars. His son was taken to ‘Ganeshgarh,’ beaten while naked, and then returned to the Junagadh Bhensan checkpoint with threats of further harm. Rajubhai informed the Junagadh police and provided CCTV footage of the incident. He mentioned that when his son initially confronted the group for reckless driving, an argument ensued.
DySP Hitesh Dhandhalya confirmed that a case has been registered against 10 people, including Ganesh Jadeja. The charges include atrocity, attempted murder, kidnapping, and rioting. Teams from the LCB and SOG have been formed to locate and apprehend the accused. DeshGujarat
