Revised toll rate effective at Ahmedabad – Vadodara Expressway from today

Vadodara: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced revised toll rates for around 1100 toll plazas across the country effective from today. The increase across the country at toll plazas is 3% to 5%. Ahmedabad – Vadodara Expressway is one of the highway stretches for which toll has been hiked.
According to NHAI officials, this adjustment in toll rates is part of an annual process, with changes based on fluctuations in wholesale price index-based inflation. NHAI generally increases toll rates every year in April. However due to the general elections of Lok Sabha this year, the rates are hiked with effect from 3rd June. The decision to increase toll plaza rates came two months after the Election Commission of India directed NHAI to implement the higher toll rates after the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. This timing coincides with the end of the election process.
The National Expressway 1 (NE-1), which connects the cities of Ahmedabad and Vadodara in Gujarat, spans around 93 kilometers and significantly reduces travel time between the two cities. The change in toll rates will affect lakhs of commuters who use this highway.
