June 04, 2024
Palanpur: The Anti-Corruption Bureau of Gujarat has nabbed a security guard of the Palanpur RTO office today in a bribery case involving ₹1500.
The complainant works in the office of an auto advisor and handles insurance and loan matters for clients. He frequently visits the RTO. The complainant was at the RTO to obtain a driving license for his employer’s son. The application for the driving license was filled out, and on 20/5/24, the two-wheeler test was taken and passed by the applicant. However, since the four-wheeler track was closed that day, that test could not be conducted.
As a result, the accused, Sheleshbhai Danabhai Rawal, a GISF Security Guard, asked the complainant to reschedule the appointment and provided his phone number. Later, the accused called and demanded a bribe of Rs. 1500/- to 2000/- for the appointment. However, as the complainant was not willing to pay the bribe, he reported the incident to the ACB. Today, a trap was set up, and during the operation, the accused contacted the complainant, asked for the bribe money, and was caught red-handed. DeshGujarat
