June 12, 2024
Ahmedabad: The Assistant Immigration Officer of Ahmedabad Airport filed a complaint on Tuesday against Dilip Rajubhai Modhavadiya, a resident of Porbandar, for having a duplicate Indian passport under the name of Portuguese national Ram Raju Bagoan from Valsad.
Modhavadiya was apprehended during an immigration check at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPI) Terminal 2 while attempting to depart for London on flight AI 171. He was found with a UK resettlement visa based on a Portuguese national’s identity.
During the immigration check at 10:00 AM, Immigration Officer Anil Karnai found discrepancies in Modhavadiya’s travel documents. Modhavadiya could not provide valid documents for his parentage. He only could present a suspicious birth certificate from Devbhoomi Dwarka. Referred to the wing in charge S. Jagseshan, Modhavadiya confessed his real identity as Modhavadiya Dilip Rajubhai, a resident of Porbandar, Gujarat.
On his confession of obtaining the passport fraudulently, Modhavadiya was handed over to SVPIA police and was booked under IPC sections 406, 420, 465, 467, 468, and 471. DeshGujarat
