Gandhidham: The Congress party workers defied administrative protocols and inaugurated Oslo Overbridge in Gandhidham without authorization. Local Congress office bearers seized the opportunity during a gathering near Gandhi Market and participated in the unauthorized opening of the overbridge. The bridge was closed approximately 25 minutes after its unofficial opening. 

Previously, despite multiple proposed inauguration dates, the administration had not made the bridge operational. It led to mounting impatience among the public. In response, the Congress party took matters into their own hands. They seized an opportunity after the memorial event for fire victims in Gandhi market. Congress leaders defied traffic rules by driving over the bridge and marking it open with slogans and flag-waving. People who unknowingly accessed the bridge had to turn back as the opposite side was blocked. Within minutes of the unauthorized opening, local police intervened and shut down the bridge again.

The city Congress head Bharat Gupta, SC ST Union chairman Bharatbhai Solanki, District Vice President Chetanbhai Joshi, District Head Devendrasinh Zala, Amrutaben Dasgupta and other Congress cadres participated in the unauthorized inaugration of this overbridge. DeshGujarat
